Nisim New Hair Biofactors® is a botanically-derived hair care system of topically applied products formulated to help slow the effects of hair loss. These products do not require FDA approval since they don't contain drugs such as minoxidil or finasteride. Nisim New Hair Biofactors® products have been shown to slow hair loss and improve hair growth in male or female pattern baldness (also known as androgenic alopecia). It also helps control hair loss related to post-pregnancy, menopause and cancer treatment.

Male or female pattern baldness, known as Androgenetic alopecia (AGA), is a common form of hair loss in men and women. Male pattern baldness is caused by an overproduction of the androgenic hormone, dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is a potent form of testosterone known to stimulate prostate growth and scalp hair loss. An enzyme produced in the prostate, adrenal glands and scalp, called 5-alpha-reductase, metabolizes the male hormone testosterone into DHT.

Nisim New Hair Biofactors® products contain botanically-based nutrients such as saw palmetto that block the damaging effects of 5-alpha-reductase and stop the production of DHT. The manufacturer, Nisim International, has conducted clinical studies of their products on the scalp and thinning hair.

In a open-ended 1993 study, 148 male subjects with mild to moderate AGA were administered a topical Nisim shampoo and compound solution containing saw palmetto extract and other botanicals twice daily for five months. Findings revealed that 85 percent of the participants experienced a 30 percent or greater increase in their terminal hairs.

"In terms of hair regrowth, this all natural compound solution appears to be more effective than minoxidil (Rogaine) and has no known side effects," the study authors write. "Thus, our conclusion is that this product does stimulate regrowth of hair in cases of androgenic alpecia (balding), and that over 85 percent of men will respond favorably to the treatment."

Nisim New Hair Biofactors® products should be used for 18 to 24 months, or until the desired results are achieved. To maintain results, Nisim Shampoo® should be used.
